HoundJog is a professional dog walking and pet sitting service based in Beacon, Dutchess County.  We are currently hiring responsible, reliable and experienced animal lovers to join our exceptional team as dog walkers and pet sitters. 

If you are committed to giving dogs and other companion animals what they need to stay happy and healthy, and you can deliver an exceptionally high quality of service to our human clients, then we want to hear from you.  Here are our minimum requirements for each position:

 Dog Walkers

  • You have a reliable, insured vehicle like a large hatchback, estate, SUV, 4 x 4 or similar.
  • You are available between the hours of 11am and 2pm on two or more days per week.  
  • You are willing to pay for your own background check and insurance.
  • You adore dogs.

    Pet Sitters
    • You have at least 2 checkable, local overnight pet sitting references. 
    • You have an insured and reliable vehicle.  
    • You can make at least a six-month commitment to working with us and you are available for both and long short term sits (sits are usually between 2 nights and 3 weeks).  
    • You are neat, tidy and respectful in the client's home.  
    • You are willing to pay for your own background check and insurance.
    • You adore all companion animals.
    About Pet Sitting

    Pet sitting work offers the chance to break from your usual routine.  You will also save on utility bills, and we offer excellent rates of pay for the right people.  You must be a non-smoker, have your own transport, and be able to work approximately three to six months of each year.  There would be breaks in between each sit, but should you want to work more frequently this can be arranged, as we are busy throughout the year.  Experience with dogs and ideally other pets, is essential.

    For dog walking and pet sitting work you must be a trustworthy and responsible animal lover, and be prepared to walk, groom and care for the client's animal companions, keeping to their daily routine and eating habits.

    We have a wide range of clients and all expect the very best of care, so our reputation cannot be compromised. You must also be active, versatile and able to cope in an emergency. The client's property must not be left unoccupied for more than two hours per day, and never after 5pm each evening, unless by prior arrangement. However, dog walking duties are not included in your two hours, so you will still have ample opportunity to explore your new surroundings.

    Being a dog walker or pet sitter is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and revisit old friends, and you will be ready for your first assignment once your application process is complete. 

    This type of work is ideally suited to singles or couples who are retired, but all applications will be considered on merit.      Please note that we cannot consider applicants who have other work commitments (excluding the self-employed) for pet sitting work.
