A Word from Jessie Hello, Jessie the greyhound here! My human Claire owns HoundJog. Exercise is the most important part of my health. My wild brothers and sisters used to roam for miles, and I still have that instinctual need to walk. All of us dogs have different levels of energy, of course, but even dogs with low energy need at least an hour of continuous exercise a day. If we're tired we're much more likely to be well-behaved, and through regular walking many of our behaviour issues can be resolved.
A proper walk every day can solve so many of our problems. Friends of mine who bark a lot, eat shoes or tear up the house just need a long walk every day. Walking drains our energy and makes us feel a whole lot better. A regular walk leaves us in a calm state of mind, and we become much more receptive to how you'd like us to behave. Some dog parents think that leaving us in a garden or letting us run around in an outside place like a park is enough. It's not. To us, a garden or a field is nothing more than a large kennel. We must be able to travel over a distance at a continuous pace every day to keep us happy and healthy in body, mind and spirit. If you can't walk your dog every day why not ask us at HoundJog to do it for you? Your dog will love you even more for looking after his or her most basic need! Woofs and kisses, Jessie |
